Join us for this Summer Solstice news special featuring coverage of local activists arrested June 17 during a mountaintop removal protest in West Virginia. The half-hour broadcast also includes commentary by MAIN executive director Wally Bowen on the future of MAIN and WPVM. The coal country interview features local citizen journalist Kurt Mann and clean energy activist Dave Hollister. Earthtone Soundsystem gained notoriety in Atlanta during the mid 90′s for its free outdoor renegade parties in Piedmont Park. Usually on Sunday afternoons, these house music events drew quite a diverse crowd. Since then the Earthtone DJs have spread out across the US, but their mission remains the same. Crank up the sound system and play some dance music for the masses!
Pritchard Park is located right in the heart of downtown Asheville, wedged between Patton Ave and College St.
