Listen to Women 5-6 pm Dec. 20

Did you catch the recent article in the local paper about teen pregnancy? It ignored the subject: girls and women, pregnant as a direct result of our community’s decisions to deny them information about sex. Every 28 minutes in North Carolina, a teenager becomes pregnant. Is the problem sex itself, or is it our society’s stance on sex—its rules for who is allowed to have sex, when, and why?

Kathy Putnam is an experienced Teen Parent Program and Male Involvement Network Program coordinator. She’s a staff member at Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Coalition of North Carolina (APPCNC). http://www.appcnc.org/ Kathy is our guest for a discussion of these issues. She’ll provide practical information on how you can be part of the solution.

Tune in on 103.5 FM or stream it live from this site. We’ll also feature local news, music, and more. Your host: Veronika Gunter.
