About the album…
Mary Sparks’ first CD, “Snapshots of the Muse,”… is an exploration of the hammered dulcimer as a solo instrument… and of the act of creation… of instant composition. It was recorded in sessions that were, for the most part, improvisational in nature. The songs were largely being recorded as they were being written…. captured the instant they were created. In her review of “Snapshots of the Muse” for “Spirit Seeker Magazine” (June 2006), Lisa S. Morgan wrote, “The more I listen to Mary’s CD, the more be-stilled, quiet, and centered I become. Each improvisation has a way of pulling me in, deeper and deeper. I sense a connection to spirit….”
