Travel in time with us …

Napoleon logoThis Week on The 74th edition of The Paris of the South Radio Hour, Francois and Stephanie invite you to travel with us in time.

Some new facts about Napoleon:  from his actions to protect the Jews of Europe, to his alleged poisoning by arsenic, and the theory that his butler could be the one in his coffin at the Invalides …. So where is Napoleon ?

Thanks to Radio France Internationale we will go to Paris to hear about the coronation of Napolean during 2005 bicentenial celebration.

We also parallel the recent Utah mine disaster with one that occurred in the north of France in 1906.  It took the lives of 1181 miners (including children ) in an explosion that ran through 70 miles of tunnels.
We discover the French writer Emile ZOLA with an excerpt from his 1886 master work “Germinal,” a social fresco of the working conditions in the mines.  Powerful writing!
Musical breaks with Yves Montands, Jean Lapierre, Francesca Solleville, Jean Yanne, and Laurent Voulzy.
Share our cosmic soup, a delicacy that mixes present, past, and future … it airs exclusively on WPVM.   Enjoy!
