Making Progress: News for a Change

May 21, 2007 by onair

On today’s Making Progress, Veronika will interview MAIN’s Executive Director Wally Bowen about the state of our media, and his upcoming event this Thursday night at Jubilee!

Barry will interview noted local filmmaker Rebecca Macneice about her film project: Rebecca was at Camp Casey, in Crawford TX, from it’s creation in 2005, and she has amassed hundreds of hours of video following the movement that was forged there, from Texas to Washington, New York City, and right here in Asheville. Following Cindy Sheehan, Code Pink, Veterans for Peace, Joan Baez, and many others, Rebecca is putting together a powerful chronical of the anti-war movement that grew up at the gates of George Bush’s ranch. She has a demo reel ready for viewing, and we will be talking about what it takes to bring a project like this to completion. Tune in for info on how to view the demo. To contact Rebecca for a screening or more info, call 281-1341 or email her at info@macneicefilms.com

Asheville Global Report editor Eamon Martin will join us by phone for an exclusive interview on the demise of the printed edition of AGR. The last issue will be printed this week.

David will give us the latest on the embattled Attorney General saga, and much more…

tonight (Monday) at 6 pm, and again at 1 pm on Tuesday
